I’m a film-maker (producer, director and editor), photographer and graphic designer – and #creativezealots Creative Director.

I’m 34 and I live in Clydebank, Scotland. From an early age, I explored my creativity and entrepreneurial side — not fancying university, but not wanting to work under someone else.

After a couple of years of work in design and advertising, I started making films for some of my clients around 2004.

Documentaries are my filmic passion. In 2007, I directed my first documentary, Post-Blitz Clydebank, and a 3MW for Channel 4; in 2009, Clydebank Through A Lens; and The Clydebank Blitz: Beneath The Embers in 2011.

I’ve worked (and am currently available for work) as a producer and director on documentaries, music videos, promos, ads, corporate and educational videos, viral ads, news releases, and other Web-based content, and designing motion graphics and titles.

I’ve operated many digital video cameras, including professional Sony, Panasonic and Canon models. I own a full film-making kit, complete with basic sound equipment, expendables and tools, and have access to additional grip and lighting gear.

I also have plenty of experience in technological workflows, including handling camera data, and have particular expertise in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects, and other TV and film industry post-production software.

In addition to my love of film and design, I’m also an experienced photographer. I enjoy photographing for my clients, as well as photo-journalism and reportage. I hold a UK Press Card. I’m willing to travel throughout the country and, indeed, the world.

My photography is diverse, and includes portraits of families, couples and individuals (including corporate, actor and musician headshots), business photo stories, PR and events photography, and assignments for agencies and publications. From time-to-time, I also cover celebrities, music, theatre, sport and travel. I also shoot advocacy photo stories for charities and NGOs.

My work has been seen in The Sun, The Scottish Sun, The Times, the Daily Express, the Daily Record, the Clydebank Post, the Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter, on various UK and international celebrity news Web sites, and has appeared in books from publishers such as Hodder Education.

I’m highly competent with the Canon EOS digital SLR cameras that I own. In my camera bags, I also have various lenses — wide-angle zoom, standard zoom, telephoto zoom, and prime — along with filters, Canon Speedlites, and Rosco lighting gels. I’m also in the process of setting up my studio.

I don’t get to do quite so much hands-on design, these days, as Creative Director of a collective. But I’ve done it all, from branding, to print, to Web, and everything in between.

If you need a brand identity, logo, business card, stationery, an ad, or Web site designed, get in touch.
